Reader Level:
In Part Nine of the Dreamweaver Web Standards Lesson Plan series, you are going to move away from novice status as you delve into more complex CSS topics. In this tutorial, you are going to add more accessibility to the page by modifying the navigation buttons and putting them into an unordered list. This will launch you into the world of browser bug squashing as you work to resolve the Internet Explorer issues caused by links in lists.
Here is what you will do in part nine:
- Take the links in the left column out of their paragraph formatting, and put them into a bulleted list in order to group them.
- Change the name of a rule in the CSS Styles panel with the new CS3 CSS management features.
- Identify possible CSS browser bugs by using the Dreamweaver CS3 Check Page feature.
- Fix the problems by viewing and choosing solutions from the new Adobe CSS Advisor.
- Implement the "hacks" and solutions that will correct the problems.
Don't have CS3? You can still play along at home - look for alternative steps along the way.
This tutorial is a two-parter within the series. You'll find a list of what you will do in this tutorial's sequel, Part Ten, at the end of this article.
