ColdFusion 7: Using ActionScript in Flash Forms

Primary Category: ColdFusionRecently, some of our subscribers have asked how they can manipulate Flash forms — a new feature of ColdFusion MX 7 — using ActionScript. At first glance, support for ActionScript in Flash forms seems limited. However, Flash forms are generated on ColdFusion 7 using a modified version of Flex Server, so if you know a little about Flex and ActionScript, you can get your Flash forms to perform some amazing tricks.

In this article, we're going to use ActionScript to resolve two issues posted on the Community MX Forums: how to create interdependent combo boxes using <cfselect>, and how to set focus to text fields (<cfinput>) in an accordion control.
