Today, leveraging social networks to promote your website can be more effective than previous methods including ads, trading links and search engine marketing. The prime benefit of social referrals is that when your friend recommends a web page, you are more likely to view and trust the recommendation since it comes from a trusted source. The easiest way To increase the likelihood that site visitors will recommend your page to others is to include buttons which will quickly and conveniently empower them to share.

The most popular sharing services today include Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Blogger, Wordpress, StumbleUpon, Digg and email. Most services provide a remote method to enable a sharing button on your web page. Additionally, there are some services which bundle all of these outlets for you into one plugin. Be sure to look at the documentation on a number of these plugins as many provide you with analytical data which will show you how many times people have shared your page.

In this part, we will discuss some mashups which not only provide links to Facebook, Twitter and other networks, but also provide your site with more exposure and show you statistics on the ways your content was shared.
